Reaching the Most Vulnerable
Bijoy International works in communities where poverty, exploitation, and lack of opportunity intersect. Our programs are designed to meet people where they are — not just with immediate relief, but with long-term pathways to dignity, safety, and self-sufficiency. We serve four primary groups, each with unique needs and unique potential.
Children in Danger
Millions of children across South Asia and Africa are at risk of trafficking, forced labor, and exploitation. Many are pulled out of school to work in factories, fields, or domestic service — robbed of their childhood and their future. Bijoy International identifies and rescues these children, providing safe shelter, trauma counseling, medical care, and access to education. We walk with each child until they are stable, educated, and on a path toward a life they choose.
Women Trapped in Poverty
Women in extreme poverty face compounding disadvantages — limited access to education, economic dependence, and heightened risk of exploitation. Many are survivors of trafficking or domestic abuse with no income and no support network. Our women's empowerment programs provide vocational training, microfinance access, and peer community so that women can build independent, sustainable livelihoods. When a mother is empowered, her entire family benefits.
Families on the Edge
Behind every child in crisis is a family under enormous strain. Debt bondage, illness, displacement, and lack of income force families into impossible choices — including sending children to work. Bijoy International works with whole families, not just individuals. We provide financial literacy training, emergency relief, and community support networks that help families stabilize so they never have to make those impossible choices again.
Young People Without Opportunity
Teenagers and young adults who missed years of schooling due to poverty or exploitation face a difficult road back. Without qualifications or skills, they are vulnerable to re-exploitation. Our vocational training centers give young people aged 15–25 practical, marketable skills in trades like carpentry, tailoring, construction, and technology. Graduates are placed with local employers or supported to start their own small businesses.
Where We Work
Our programs currently operate across Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and Kenya, with new partnerships forming in Uganda and Myanmar. We work through a network of local staff, community leaders, and trusted partner organizations who understand the culture and context of each region.
